Apple reportedly is considering making a deal with Japan Display in helping finance the new plant, to produce LCD screens located in Ishikawa, Japan. This plant is expected to start running next year.

Details of the agreement are not yet known, but Apple is said to be considering investing in a place worth 200 billion yen (equivalent to USD $ 1.7 billion), as reported from 9to5mac, (19/2).

This plant will reportedly build screen type low-temperature polycrystalline silicon, as used in the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. Japanese news sources also said that the plant is prepared to produce OLED panels like those found in Apple's Watch, and perhaps the series iPhone future generations.

Indeed, in general, Japan Display is not exclusively produced only for devices of Apple . However, this agreement seems to allow Japan Display to be able to continue to produce goods for competitor Apple .

Apple previously made a similar agreement with GT Advanced Technologies to build a plant in producing sapphire crystal screen in the iPhone 6. But the partnership fell apart and management GTAT announced bankruptcy. GTAT finally agreed to sell the investment and equipment to pay back the investment of Apple. It was after declaring bankruptcy and dismiss most of its staff.
